About Me

Andy Yiu is a Managing Consultant working with the IBM Software Services for Collaboration division.  As an IBM employee starting in 2002, Andy has supported many of the top Fortune 500 companies and small and medium business units.  Many of the tasks which Andy performs involve cross-collaboration with other IBM business units such as Sales and Distribution, Services and Consulting.  Andy has a passion for the business and enjoys a variety of challenges such as resolving with Critical Situation and architecting environments in collaboration with the consulting arms of IBM.  Andy has been on-site with customers several times to work toward resolving critical issues in a timely manner as well as provide health-checks and sanity checks on existing environments.  In 2010, Andy became a \ Technical Team lead for the L2 Sametime Support team in the IBM Technical Support Center .

In December 2008, Andy completed his MBA degree at Penn State University through the iMBA Program.  Prior obtaining his MBA program, Andy graduated with his Bachelors in Computer Science at the University of Texas at Austin.  While originally based in Austin, Texas with the rest of the IBM Sametime crew, Andy now works out of the Austin,TX, Houston,TX, and Omaha, NE offices.

This blog was created as to express my interests and opinions on certain topics. It has evolved from a dicsussion purely on Information Technology, to a blog which covers a variety of interesting subjects and hobbies. It is also intended to provide information to readers on some of the subject areas which I have been following.
