You asked for it and here it is. Many customers whom I’ve spoken to have asked for Sametime Training. Up to now, the training options have been extremely limited, but now we are pleased to announce the “Sametime Essentials” self-paced training. Various IBM teams have worked together to assemble this training to share what we know with the public. It will take approximately 4 days to complete the course material which is delivered in a Notes Database. Some of the topics which are covered are:
1. Introduction to Sametime
2. Sametime Administration; Community Server Architecture; Meeting Services Architecture; Broadcast Services
3. Multimedia Services; LDAP
4. Debug; Servlets; Security

I am pleased to announce the release of the IBM Education Assistant videos on the Sametime Gateway. The videos are short with information and walkthroughs on how to configure various features of the Sametime Gateway environment. The IBM Education assistant site is a site that I would highly recommend that you bookmark for reference as various teams will be publishing content there in the upcoming months. I have spoken with customers at Lotusphere on content which you would like education on, however if any of you would like us to cover certain aspects of the product, please post a comment and I will pass them back to the appropriate teams.

During Lotusphere, a post was silently slipped into the Sametime Forums announcing the Sametime Wiki. Right now, the wiki is focused on various Sametime Gateway scenarios, however we plan to expand this out to include our hot new products such as Sametime Advanced. So head over, take a look at what’s out there and contribute!
